FOLLOW THE WAY SPORTS LEAGUE
PLAY
Quick Facts:
- Boys and girls play in the same league not the same team.
- Teams are formed by age level. Siblings of like age can be placed on separate teams or together on request.
- During registration you can indicate one night that your child cannot practice.
- Practices are one hour in length and are offered after school during the week and/or on the weekend.
- Individual coaches select their time based on their schedules, and include a short devotion with the team.
- Upward head coaches, assistant coaches, referees, score keepers, and prayer partners are always an asset. All are trained by the Upward Director in concert with the Upward Sports Ministry philosophy to assure an excellent experience for your child/grandchild/niece/nephew. Parents are our best source for these positions — jump in and join the fun!
LEARN
Upward basketball and cheerleading is a fun and exciting Christian sports league for boys and girls in K-12th grade. Upward promotes character and self-esteem in every youth by providing equal playing time for every player, one-hour practices, weekly games, and positive coaching and role modeling.
WIN
Upward Sports is a youth ministry of Follow The Way Church. We are dedicated to giving each child and every family a dose Jesus' s love through every interaction and in every game.

In the sections below, we will lead you through the online registration process. During the process, please provide us with at least one email address. This allows us to quickly send you any practice or game changes and alert you to when team photos will be taken. If you do not have an email address, we will put your name on a call list instead.
Online Registration
Online Registration for Basketball is a three-step process:

There is an option in online registration to pay using a credit/Debit card or to pay in person. If you choose to pay in person, it is your obligation to ensure payment is given directly to the League Director or Designee and receipt is given to you. You can bring payment to an Evaluation Session and pay in person there.
- Attend an Evaluation Session at the designated Gym location. Your child will get measured at this time and a uniform ordered.
- At the end of the Evaluation Session, unless you paid online, you will pay your fee plus the cost for any additional uniforms or material you want to order.
The ordering of Upward Basketball shorts is optional. So that you may better understand what these look like, the photos below may help. Since the uniform colors are changed every year, the colors of the uniforms shown will be different than what you receive.
EVALUATION SESSION
After you have completed the above three steps, you will be assigned a team and a coach and will get a practice and game schedule. We want your child to have a wonderful Christian experience, and we work hard to keep the quality of the program high and the costs down.

Then, all that is left for you to do is show up at one of the Evaluation Nights where your child will be evaluated, a uniform ordered, and you can pay your fee.
Evaluations are NOT TRY-OUTS and they are also not competitive. You only have to attend one of the Evaluation Sessions. This year, the Evaluation Sessions are June 2nd (Mon), 3rd (Tues), and 6th (Fri). Please don't put off going to an Evaluation Session. The sooner you do this, the easier it will be for us to balance teams and make Coach and Team assignments. The sooner you get assigned to a team and meet your coach, you can begin practice sessions.
